Choral Mission

The mission of the Tuscarora High School Choral Music Program is to promote excellence and support diversity by providing musical opportunities to students. Our goal is to help students grow as musicians and people by focusing on individual and group performance opportunities of all possible genres. Tuscarora High School is the only high school in Frederick County that offers three separate Choral performance groups during the school day. Through participation in Mixed Choir (our beginning group) students may transition into Concert Choir & Titan Tempo Show Choir (our two advanced groups) and will gain a sense of belonging, cooperation, self-esteem, team work, time management, dedication, leadership and responsibility. Beginning in 2022, third and fourth year students will receive weighted credit for performance classes. They will also have a great time!

MR. TERRY MOORE

ASSISTANT DRAMA DIRECTOR

Mr. Moore has been the director of choral music at Tuscarora High School and the Assistant Drama Director for the past eighteen years. He is still thrilled to be a part of the Tuscarora community and to have the opportunity to work with the many talented students here in this beautiful facility. He is originally from Levittown, New York and now resides just north of Frederick in Washington County. Mr. Moore is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned his B.S. in Music Education and also holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College). Before beginning his teaching career, he made his living as an actor/singer/mover and was fortunate enough to perform with the Washington Opera, the Berlin Opera and almost all of the Dinner Theaters in existence in the Washington D.C. area. He has continued to perform sporadically and throughout his professional career, he has served as an actor, director, musical director, artistic director, stage manager and lighting designer. Mr. Moore has also been fortunate enough to perform at some prestigious Equity Summer Stock companies in New England. Over the past forty years, some favorite credits include: Jack Jerome (Brighton Beach Memoirs), Mr. Bumble (Oliver), Archibald (The Secret Garden), Emile (South Pacific),The Duke (Big River), Tony (West Side Story- a few years ago), Billy Bigelow (Carousel), Mordred (Camelot), and Lamar (Godspell). His proudest accomplishment by far is his thirty-six years of marriage to his wonderful wife Tracey and their ability to survive with humor, while raising four children; Matthew (36), Katie (31), Genevieve (29), and Jordan (19). Mr Moore is also the proud grandfather of three grandsons, Jacob, Nicholas and Lucas and he is expecting there will be more grandchildren in the future.
